Everyone ordered their own meal and planned to share, however we all concluded at the end of the meal that everything was just okay. The Pros: The restaurant is super cute and cozy. They were busy but attentive and you can tell the team really works together. One of our starters did not end up coming out until the end of the meal, but management comped the dish based on the timing which was nice of them. The drinks were amazing! The house shot, espresso martini, and ginger pigeon were favorites. The Parfait was definitely shareable and very tasty! The cons: The pizza was super greasy and fell apart. (To be fair the photos online do show how greasy the pizza is, but we had assumed some of the grease may have actually been hot honey that was added to the pizza and/or maybe that it was a fluke). In reality while the dough was very good-it was hard to eat because everything slid right off, lacked enough cheese, and just overall was not very memorable. The Bucatini Carbonara was also just okay. One of the cheeses was super strong and overpowered the pasta. Perhaps this is how traditional Carbonora is supposed to be made-but everyone at the table agreed it was too much and there wasn't enough guanciale to cut or balance the flavor. The Cesar Salad could have used a lot more lettuce. While I'm sure that there is a standard amount of lettuce used for the salad, the table next to us ordered the Cesar without the pizza dough bowl, and it just looked there was a lot more actual salad on their plate vs in the pizza bowl version we ordered.
Great place in downtown Cambridge! It's tucked away in Harvard square, behind the bookstore and just off campus. Most the crowd is townies, and it's got a lot of seating. Parking is tough to get, but there are street and lot options nearby. Of course, you can get there via the T pretty easily as well.We got seated quickly, and saw the menu having a mix of appetizers, drinks, salads, pastas, and pizzas. The duck appetizers are usually a big hit, and run out quickly. The arancini balls are ok ours seemed a bit undercooked. The pizzas are good for 2 3 people, depending on your appetite. They come in a variety of flavors, and there are options to create your own with a host of toppings. Dessert dishes, particularly the key lime pie, were very good and quick to come after ordering.Prices are indicative of Harvard and the area that you're in, so be mindful. That said, it's well backed by speedy and thoughtful service. Overall, love coming back to source and hope to come by again soon!
The food was delicious. The scallop crudo was fresh and well balanced. The kale pizza was unique and tasty thought it could have had a bit more of the toppings on it. The salad was fine but not as good or unique as the other things I had. The people who worked there were lovely and kind. Made me feel like I was at their home instead of a restaurant. Also, love the half glass of wine option especially befor the theatre.
Great store, I love that they sell beer and wine too that's how a grocery store should be! My biggest complaint, to the point that hate them for it they limited the assortment of Iggy's Bakery bagels to just two kinds on the basis that they bake their own, but Whole Foods bagels made instore are just awful ?. They also did the same to Nashoba Brook bakery by not selling their whole wheat bread, because they wanted to limit the competition to their own, which is also quite bad! If not for these monopoly hugry moves, it would be an awesome store.
Highly recommend the Brussels Sprouts to share. Great atmosphere! Reservation usually needed.
