The old Masia was renovated with love by the Owner and you can see and feel his passion. Some of the wine is also made by him and delicious as is the Food cooked by his wife . Returning Customers are greeted hola familia and in the whole region this is an insider secret . I would drive 1500 km to go again , some of the dishes we still dream of them .
Cal Frare is a restaurant located on road in the little town called Castellfollit del Boix, between Igualada and Manresa, in the center of Catalonia. It is a big Masia (house on land , where you can eat some local and modern dishes. We came here and shared 3 dishes: foie, cured ham with figs and scallops with beans (wonderful! as first dish, and a big steak as second dish. Also we ate a little cake (as a brownie as dessert and we shared two bottles of homemade wine (a sweet one and a dry one . Very good. Pitifully, we had to wait almost 30minutos to ask for the dishes and we have three coffees in the bill, that we do not ask for. Two small mistakes! (if not, I rate 5/5 this restaurant
The highlight of this place is the atmosphere and the food. One of the best meals I've eaten in Catalonia, and I've been here for 24 years! Service a bit too relaxed, but if you are eating there over the weekend, that doesn't matter at all

Es un restaurante espectacular por el trato , la calidad de los platos, la variedad... Y el ambiente muy acogedor me superencanta siempre que vamos quedamos muy contentos
