Obviously during the present circumstances, the restaurant is closed but James and Sue have been providing a takeaway service. We’ve had numerous meals and haven’t been disappointed by any of them, tonight however was the crowning glory, 1/2 a crispy duck with veg, fabulous, can’t wait for them to open again 10/10.
We have had several wonderful evenings at Little Churtons and have been made to feel incredibly welcome on every occassion. The food, wine and service is always fantastic. It is a real treat and we will be visiting again very soon.
We visited on 22nd Aug and thought we were entering a bar rather than a restaurant. No tables set. The owner was quite brusk but friendly enough. The food was very disappointing in that potted shrimps are supposed to be served either cold or warm. They arrived in hot butter just floating around in the liquid. I have never had them served in that way ever. The glass of diet coke arrived tepid without ice or even a question about it.The asparagus were soggy in very salty Parma ham with a large chunk of cheddar cheese plunked on top and slightly melted. It was concealed and the grease from the cheese had saturated the asparagus. The menu makes no mention of cheese topped asparagus. Just disappointing.
This quaint, privately owned restaurant is very cozy. It is open Wednesday to Saturday and serves first-class home-cooked meals. The menu is good and the host, James, is attentive. I highly recommend this establishment.
