From one slice of tenderloin, there was about 2-3T of unnecessary cream cheese...this was after my half inch piece was smothered in cream cheese. I understand that they sell by weight, but seriously!? The only jalapeno was the 4 small slices on the top that fell off as soon as the cream cheese went everywhere. The recipe would be great if there was actually jalapenos and less than a 8oz brick of cream cheese per pound.
I came for a pound of jerkies and left with a new love for candied bacon.Darn them at Dionne's...I tried 1/4 lb of their delicious tender thick cut smoked bison jerky, black pepper jerky, and teriyaki jerky. The gentleman helping me slid me a piece of the sweet and spicy bacon jerky (aka bacon candy) and I was hooked instantly. The next day I returned and bought a whole pound. I'm hoping it lasts more than a few days...it is truly a must try. Tender but chewy,Sweet but peppery. Not spicy at all so don't let the name fool you.
While at the Westside Market we toured all of the different vendors and trust me there were all kinds! Pastries, drinks, coffee, meats (and I mean all types of meats), gyros you name it. After looking through the entire Market we headed back here because the guys working here were so nice and very talkative. Sara ended up buying a BACON BOMB! This is a piece of meat that's made up of hamburger, Spivey Italian Sausage, diced Bell Peppers, jalapeños, onions, cream cheese than wrapped in a weaved ball of bacon. Sara can't wait to make it when we get home. This was a great place with great people!
