You wouldn't think much about it based on the look. Just a hole in the wall bar and barbecue. We had waited a bit for our food, but it was worth waiting. All four of us have burgers. Two got the Jalapeño Mayo Burger (one with perpetrator-tarts the other with fries), one got the Panther Burger with sweet potatoes, and I got the mushroom Swiss burgers with onion rings. We were all very satisfied with our decisions.
Food was sooo good, especially the Pommes! Chicken pliers looked good. They also had cold beer a full bar, extra bonus!
Go through here a lot, Jason and his crew know good cooking, hands down when your passage through Comstock Tx, you need to stop and eat, 5 stars for me, keep the great service guys Brian Moore Trucking Loving
The J P Bar Grill is the type Burgerplatz for which you would like to have a Drive-Thru window, but I'm glad they don't. I have the Devilsburg with regular frits and a sweet tea for children. The burger of the devil was really good, with smoked jalapeno, melted pepper Jack cheese, and a Jalapeno cilantro Mayo. Nothing really diabolical about my burger, except the name. I thought the Jalapeno cilantro Mayo needed only a little, or maybe it was overpowered by the cut pimples, I'm not sure. My Ciabatta bung fell from the burger's fleshy, cheesy fatness, but that didn't stop me from ending what I went to J P. The frits were fresh cut homestyle shoes, with a salt spray they were great tasting, but a little soggy. The sweet tea was perfect, not painfully sweet, simply cool and refreshing on a warm Saturday afternoon. The waitress was friendly and managed everything well with 6 or so tables from Diners when I visited. Driving through this part of Texas many times and seeing the J P from the highway, it is definitely easy to miss. If you are on the go or have a taste for the concoction called Burger, it is worth stopping at J P. Good food, good service and much better than the fast food thing that is lost in your car and never forms.
Chill, order the heart attack burger and breaded mushrooms. Have a Lone Star and experience true old time Texas!
