Quinta do Sangrinhal - Covilhã

This place has a good relation price/quality. Besides having nice and tasty food the staff is friendly and accommodating. The terrace by the pool is relaxing and the atmosphere is great. Since the food is prepared once ordered waiting is a little more than at other eateries, but very worthy. Try the chef suggestion for the dessert. They will try to accommodate requests outside the menu (i ordered lemonade which is not part of the menu and they made fresh lemonade for me). Will return for sure. PS. The pool is open to the public even if you are not staying there, and so is the bar during the day.

Quiet, cozy and fully customised service. Dinner by the pool or by the fireplace, everything is possible. Hard to reach for those who do not know the exact location.

The staff is nice and effective. Food is typical Portuguese and very well cooked, good value for money. Deserts are heavenly I recommend Montanha Russa which is egg whites baked with sugar and cooked in oven (soft texture) and then covered with a sweet sauce cooked with the yolks. There is a sweet lady which came to our table upon arrival and said: I am the menu. She is the cook and can tell all about the daily dishes. Food seems to be already cooked as it was very fast between ordering and plates arriving in out table. The decoration is typical and ambiance very familiar. Recommend and I will return for sure.

The place is wonderful! Great atmosphere, great food. Staff is nice and effective. Price is acceptable.

I have been to Sangrinhal very often in the last few days, and it 's not just a coincidence. Sangrinhal provides a great atmosphere, a great place to eat (with easy parking), and, above all, great food. The wine selection is excellent. But the food has that home made flavor that really makes you want to come back for more. I only wish there were more salads and more deserts to choose from. If you are visiting Covilhã, you may find difficult to find Sangrinhal, maybe you need to call them and ask for directions, because the restaurant is on the ground floor of an old rock-walled house, inside a small farm.
