The staff, for the most part, are friendly and attentive, except for one older man who seems to be the owner or manager. He comes across as rude and treats customers as if they are a bother, which is disappointing. The coffee and cake were delicious, but unfortunately, we won't be rushing back anytime soon. Despite living in this area for 5 years and dining here multiple times, the presence of this particular individual consistently ruins the overall dining experience.
I have been living in Eastbourne for years and normally go to a café located in the harbour called de leitos. However, it was closed so we decided to go to 4 Seasons. The last time we went, we found the staff to be rude and this visit confirmed why we hadn't returned. As soon as we walked in and sat down at a spare seat, a miserable old man rudely told us we should have waited to be seated and pointed out a sign we apparently missed. We decided to leave as the customer service was shocking. Do not recommend this place at all.
This place needs a complete revamp. The decor is so outdated. The toilets are poor. I always think if the toilets in a restaurant are in bad shape it’s not a good indicator of general cleanliness in the establishment . The floor in the restaurant needed sweeping. The owner is very miserable. He needs to cheer up a bit if he’s in a business dealing with the public.
We have been here many times, and always enjoyed it. The food we had yesterday was nice, but way too much green leaves on the plate. Serving staff were lovely as always. The owner looks like he needs a good wash shave, and doesn't care about himself, the staff, the restaurant, or the customer! The restaurant itself is in need of decoration and modernisation. Although clean, the toilets are in poor condition, and not easy to access, as limited space. This is a lovely location, with tons of free parking, and could be a little gold mine! Please don't let this restaurant fail, take steps to make it what it was, and can be, a great place to eat and relax.
Extremely disappointed. This was once our favourite place to go for coffee/breakfast. Not anymore! The food was horrible, sausages cheap and soggy. Hash browns very over cooked. The coffee was bitter and burnt. There was an older gentleman, shirt half undone serving at the till, we attempted to have a discussion about the food and coffee, he was rude, dismissive and disinterested. On that basis alone we will not be returning. The waiting staff are always lovely, such a shame they have been let down by everything else!
