The Machair Kitchen - Eilean Siar

The restaurant had a lovely ambiance and delicious food. We started with the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, which was perfect. The lamb dish was also excellent. The view of the bay and sunset was stunning. The room was a bit warm since the thermostat couldn't be controlled, but it didn't detract from our dining experience as we enjoyed the views and took photos.

This restaurant is amazing. The staff were all so friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed with stunning views overlooking the sea. The highlight for us was definitely the lobster and smoked salmon salad, although everything else was also excellent! Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We enjoyed our first meal at this restaurant so much that we returned the next evening as soon as they opened. The specials menu offers a wide selection of locally sourced dishes that are beautifully prepared, and the view of Taransay from the restaurant is stunning. Be sure to make a reservation in advance, as this is one of the best dining spots on the Isle of Harris.

Great location, great kitchen, reasonably priced good quality food I'd give it five stars but thought the drinks a little on the dear side. Had a table with a great view of the sea, and watched a Gannet fishing. Service is very good, I'd definitely return!!
