Just a short walk away from our hotel, the Marygold Beachfront Inn, Happiness looked full with what seemed like every expat in town so we tried Cafe Athena instead and I am glad we did. We ordered the moussaka, chicken souvlaki and chicken gyros, as well as freshly squeezed calamansi and orange juices and margaritas for drinks. The servings were generous and flavorful (especially the moussaka), the service was fast and courteous, and the sound of crashing waves right outside contributed to the nice island vibe and ambience. They forgot to serve the accompanying pita bread with our souvlaki but did include them in our take-out bag after we asked them about it. Although it was a bit pricey, we had a nice evening dining out with friends in a place that we will surely visit again on our return trip to El Nido.
This is my go-to when in El Nido. Really good Greek flavor and Vegetarian/Vegan options. They have breakfast too and they serve it up to 12-12:30. How can you beat that?! The fresh fruit juices and shake, perfect in this humid weather. Has been consistently good, first tried dining here back in 2018 and it is the same even after the pandemic. The restaurant is fairly small so you might occupy it when you’re a big group. Open air, can be fresh air from the beach or the roadside construction but can easily be ignored. Food portion is good for two.
Great location with beautiful ocean view! We ordered the beef wrap which was filling and good for 2pax. It tastes good and healthy, I was just looking for some strong flavor or dressing. Some menus are not updated, showing vanilla ice cream on the side of brownies, but then we were told that it’s not served with ice cream anymore when we ordered the brownies. The cold chocolate drink was only Php100. Overall, fairly priced. Food is generally good and the view is very relaxing.
I love the gyros and the seafood platter. The location is overlooking the El Nido beach. It is located at the alley called Serena St. A small restaurant with mediterranean dishes. I also enjoyed the watermelon shake. Price is a little bit high but the food are delicious.
An absolute must if you are looking for propper meal with an ocean view. We let the chefs know their Souvlaki was a 10/10 and they gave us a complementary desert which was also a 10/10. It is affordable, especially when it's happy hour with two cocktails for the price of one
