Contribuer aux commentairesThe most amazing thing about the Emo Inn is the staff! They are definitely friendly.Rooms have good wifi and TV.A small fridge, comfortable beds and nice air conditioning system. There is a beautiful old fashioned bar attached to the motel with dart and pool table.
While visiting in Emo I was excited try the Emo Inn. I looked online for their menu and I was in love. The food sounded soooo good. We went for breakfast and I got the Eggs Benny and let me tell you, it was the most awful breakfast I've ever had. I literally bent the fort trying to cut through the hard English muffin. The poached eggs were more like a hard boiled egg. The sauce was very tasty though. The next day I went to the backside for a drink and tried some apps. The apps were pretty good. The avocado wedges were nothing I've ever seen in a menu before and they were really good. Disappointed I didn't get to try the zucchini sticks. The calamari was very good to, cooked well. I was with 2 friends who ordered the Jambalaya and they said it was the best! Next time I'm in town I would love to give their dinner menu a try - will be avoiding breakfast here!
Decent place to have a pint and hang out with friends. They have recently updated their menu and it's good food with decent value.
Two hours into my stay, I noticed an insect on my blanket. I crushed it with a Kleenex and there was blood. A quick google search later confirmed my fears - it was a bed bug. I took the bed bug to the manager and informed her of the situation. She looked at me blankly and said "I don't know what you expect us to do about it?" She agreed not to charge me for the room, but was otherwise unhelpful and unempathic. I returned to my room and found more bed bugs swarming on the pillow. It was easily the worst motel I've ever stayed in. In the future, I will always stay in Fort Frances. Driving an extra 30 minutes is preferable to staying at the Emo Inn. Camping at the side of the road is preferable to staying at the Emo Inn. Don't stay at the Emo Inn. Unless you want to spend hours trying to make sure your home doesn't get infested with bed bugs, like I currently am.
Came for a wedding. I'm not usually critical of hotels so long as they are clean but this time I feel I have to write up something. Was able to get into the room early which was good- requested a crib, but they brought us a playpen that probably isn't up to safety standard anymore it was so old. There's no hairdryer or iron in the room but you can request an iron from the front desk- but if everyone is here for a wedding and getting ready at the same time that doesn't really work. The water is discoloured- as I found out when I poured a bath for the baby. I phoned the front desk to ask if they were on well water maybe but she said no. The inn could use a lot of updating. Although it was clean, the room was very musty and there were cobwebs on the lights. Each room has its own AC unit, but it is probably from the 80's. Looks like the fan in the bathroom is too. It sounds like someone stuck a hairdryer up there instead of a bathroom fan. I just feel like a bit of updating would make the inn more comfortable but in all honesty would probably save them on electricity if they upgraded to more modern energy efficient stuff. There is a small TV but we weren't able to figure out how to get any channels to work, and we're young and hip so I can't imagine what it'd be like for someone who isn't tech inclined. It's also hard to get someone at the front desk, either by phone in the room or in person. There was never anyone readily available. We ate one meal at the inn and it was good.
