What a cool little place to eat! It's just down the road from Castle Key. The food is fantastic. You may have to wait for a table if you don't have reservations, but it's worth it!
Two recent team outings for distillery tours started with a stop at The Stave for lunch. They were able to accommodate our group of 12 with no problem (called in advance) and everyone enjoyed a wide range of southern and traditional fare. Recommended as a destination from anywhere in central Kentucky and a must if touring Castle and Key or Woodford Reserve distilleries.
We loved everything about our experience at The Stave! Spent the evening there for a 60th birthday celebration after a day at the nearby distilleries. Food had unique t delicious spins on Kentucky classics. The wait staff were friendly, knowledgeable and really seemed to enjoy what they do. The treehouse wasn’t open but we certainly would stop there again to enjoy it as it looked great! Bread Pudding was to die for! Bartender was friendly and knowledgeable as he suggested a great custom bourbon flight which had pours from unique distillery which was the request. A magical night!
Amazing food. Smoked Bologna sandwich was incredible. Also got to sample their grit cakes which were really tasty too. An unrivaled selection of bourbons and conveniently located between two iconic distilleries on the bourbon trail. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
