So happy we found the Schnitzel Parlour...it's a bit tucked away on Union Street and the parking can be difficult but just go anyway! We had read that we may need reservations but we got lucky on a Friday evening around 5:30pm and got a table right away. Our server was very cordial and knowledgeable about all the menu items. I chose the Jaeger Schnitzel and my husband ordered the Bavarian Schnitzel. He had a Warsteiner beer to go along with his meal. Our dinners came with a green salad with a choice of dressings and my husband was adventurous and tried the house special dressing which contained chocolate...I thought it was too sweet. My ranch dressing was also housemade and delicious. Our entrees came with both fried potatoes and spaetzle (you can get both or choose one or the other), fresh green garden peas and baby carrots. The schnitzels were fork tender and cooked to perfection! We did save room for a slice of the housemade black forest cake and let me tell you, there was no skimping on the kirsch in this beauty! One of the best German meals I've had in many years and we wished we had been able to visit this restaurant several times while we were in New Brunswick. Do your taste buds a treat and get to the Schnitzel Parlour as fast as you can!
I've been hearing about schnitzels for 3 years: my spouse had wonderful memories of the ones he ate while in Germany many years ago. Well, tonight I finally got to taste what a treat schnitzels are. Deserts were also wonderful! One deception: homemade truffles are not available during summer time. Will have to come back!!!!
Enjoyed an awesome meal st the Schnitzel Parlor tonight with my husband. The food was Fresh and very tasty. We both had the schnitzel and it was sooo good. The Hungarian and the Bombay topping were perfect. The salad with their house dressing is simple and delicious. Even bought there homemade dressing to take home. Finished with Black Forest cake. The owners are very friendly and welcoming!
This is one of the best - if not the best - restaurants in Fredericton. I recently went for dinner with my parents and spouse, and we were all extremely happy with our meal. Everyone had schnitzel (curry, peppercorn, onion/apple, Hungarian, Hollandaise, hunter, I think), and we were all super-pleased with our meals. The ladies ordered a small, and the gents got "regular" - small gives you one schnitzel and regular gives you two. I can't fit two in my belly (sadly), but the benefit of getting two is that you can order a different sauce on each. The sides, rolls, and desserts are also excellent. In particular, we all loved the house salad dressing and the balsamic concoction that comes with the rolls.Final thoughts: - The staff and the owners are lovely - helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. - The value for your dollar is outstanding.- Great selection of German beers.- Charming dining area, and the fanciest restroom in Fredericton.- Make a reservation.
