Goldi - Funchal

A great first time visit for dinner and what a find! Firm favourite for the English it seems. Typical Portuguese menu offering and comprehensive wine list to select from. Superb service throughout from very friendly and attentive owner. The food was nicely cooked, well presented and delicious to eat, with good portion size. Average prices offering excellent value for money. Highly recommended. Will return again for sure.

Wonderful experience. Highly recommended. We have already booked for a second visit. From starter through main course to aperitif the quality was apparent and most enjoyable The host was effortlessly attentive to all diners without being too obvious and was ready with advice or information when required.

Didn’t like the fish soup but the rest was very good

Very quiet restaurant without ambience. The food was edible, but inspiring. The staff was efficient, but did not even agree to do anything for them. Not one of the best I fear this holiday.

The owner and his wife are really friendly and try really hard to make you welcome. Food is excellent my husband had the steak with blue cheese and I had the beef on skewers. We rounded off our evening with a complimentary drink will go back again.
