Visited Thur Feb 25, 2016 in the evening Every Thur they have "Name that tune", where your table plays against other tables guessing the title of the song,
A wonderful gem and one that everyone should take in.
We had dinner on the outdoor patio which, as promised, has a spectacular view of the water. It was windy that evening, but we were nicely sheltered where we were sitting. However, sadly, the food and service lagged behind the view. The staff were doing their best and were friendly and pleasant, but were clearly overwhelmed. I don't blame them! The restaurant was full to capacity and they needed at least one more server and probably another kitchen crew member. Several tables waited a long time for their food or didn't receive an item they had ordered. We ordered the seafood chowder, which I could tell had been cooked very quickly because the small cubes of potato were very crunchy--I'd say about half the potato cubes were actually raw. The seafood was fine, and the taste was okay, though I would have liked it to be served at a hotter temperature. The side of green salad was good, with a very fresh assortment of greens. The dessert, a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, was delicious, and one order was generous enough for two of us to share. (At least our meal ended on a high note!)
A group of friends dined here recently . The halibut fish and chips was tasty and not greasy, as well as the calamari; we enjoyed the addition of fried jalapanos to the dish. The Samurai bowl was also delicious, with plenty of fresh vegetables; a good option for vegans. The kale salad with salmonDesserts were nice, but not sure if made in house or ordered in from a restaurant supplier. The service was lacking; pleasant staff, but inexperienced and slow to respond to the requests of our party. The location is beautiful for sunsets and the rustic decor of the lodge is in keeping with the island feel. For the price of the meals, I expected more.
