It was a perfect location for walking being in the heart of the most beautiful, unspoiled and peaceful countryside. The hotel itself was excellent in every way warm welcome, great food, comfortable rooms, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very knowledgeable and had many suggestions for walking routes. Fresh fish was on the menu every day (also meat or salad options) and was absolutely delicious simply but perfectly cooked which is the best way to present good quality fish in my view! The breakfasts were great for setting one up for a day's walking I had the full Irish which I would thoroughly recommend. In all, a perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the delights of this corner of Ireland
We had a wonderful day here exploring the Abbey, Neo Gothic Church beautiful lake walk and Victorian Garden. Great value for the whole day. Beautiful cafe, great food wonderful setting.
Even though we have passed by this restaurant many times, we finally stayed for one night while attending the Killary Fjord swim the next day. In summary, the place is delightful and truly a unique place to stay. The Kylemore Pass Hotel is full of charm and is run by very kind and welcoming hosts. Our room was perfect and unlike any we had stayed in before. We didn't dine in the restaurant for dinner, but from what we could see, although the menu wasn't extensive, the food was hearty and wholesome. We had a continental-style buffet breakfast as we had to wake up early, so we didn't get to try the full Irish breakfast, but it was still perfect for us in every way. We will definitely be returning.
A few months ago, my party of two adults and a teenager stayed at this hidden gem while visiting our daughter in a nearby Gaeltacht. Located in a serene rural setting, we were greeted with complimentary tea and biscuits by the beautiful open fire upon arrival. Our room was comfortable and fully serviced. One evening, we dined at the restaurant and were impressed by the delicious food and excellent service. Breakfast was served with a smile each morning, using the finest fresh ingredients. Special thanks to Stuart, who runs the hotel and restaurant with impeccable attention to detail, customer service, and a desire to please. Our stay in Connemara was peaceful and enjoyable, and we look forward to returning in the future.
We spent a night at this hotel and were amazed by the breathtaking view of the beautiful Connemara mountains from our window! We had a cozy little deck where we could soak in the fresh air and scenery. The room wasn't overly spacious, but it was comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic, complete with a cappuccino maker! My omelet was huge, served with a generous portion of bacon and toast - just what I needed before heading out to hike Diamond Hill. This hotel is in a perfect central location in Connemara, only a few minutes away from Kylemore Abbey and Connemara National Park.
