Despite confirming our booking for 10 people, we were told upon arrival that it was only for 8 people. After reconfirming that I had made the reservation for 10 over a week prior, the waiter was quite rude and asked us to wait in the bar while he reset the table. Upon returning to the restaurant, it became clear that they had no record of our booking at all. The Duty manager became involved and was extremely rude, offering no apology. Despite explaining the details of my initial booking conversation, he seemed to question what I had said. He reluctantly offered us a table at 7pm, but insisted we must leave by 8:30pm, which was unreasonable for a party of 10. The whole situation was poorly handled. Though we were offered a complimentary drink while they tried to sort out our table, we were left waiting for over half an hour without anyone coming to seat us. The food was mediocre with underwhelming portions. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and I would not recommend this poorly managed restaurant to anyone. We will not be returning.
I had a wonderful Sunday lunch at the restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the food came out hot and delicious. I will definitely be coming back again! Keep up the good work!
This restaurant located on Salthill Promenade is a pleasant choice for dining. There is convenient parking available and you can enjoy a leisurely walk along the promenade afterwards. Our group of four had an enjoyable dinner and found both the food and service to be excellent. The menu offers a wide variety of options, some of which vary daily, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy. The only drawback is that the restaurant can be a bit noisy, possibly due to the wooden floors. Additionally, during our visit, there was a large party with a noisy baby that disrupted the ambiance for most of our meal.
This was an overnight stay at the Salthill Hotel as we had dental appointments in the morning so we decided to try the hotels restaurant. We got there about 6.45pm and were welcomed with a smile by Simon who was polite and knowledgable. My husband choose to have a starter and a main course which consisted of seafood chowder which he said was one of the best he has had and the Chicken and mushroom pasta which he enjoyed but said was very filling. I decided to have a main and dessert and opted for pan fried sea trout on a bed of mash with seasonable vegetables which was very tasty but I still would not serve carrots with fish and for dessert sticky toffee pudding with ice cream which was more like a muffin and a bit bland so next time I might try a different dessert. On the whole a good result and worth a return visit.
Nice looking restaurant within the Salthill hotel. They serve only supper no lunch. We were there on a Friday night and we found the food to be top notch. Service was attentive and yet not over the top.
