The owner/operator was so rude when we asked very politely if our lunch was coming soon as we had to get back to work. He tapped his watch and gruffly said "you've been here 13 minutes.. the average order takes 20" ... and walked off. We were gobsmacked as we timed it to make sure we'd be back to work in time and we definitely had been there 30mins by then at least. When the food arrived it was average. Mine was a club sandwich - over priced at $17.50.. no fries and slapped together on thin cheap bread. So disappointing as we work locally and love to support local traders... and the decor is lush and gorgeous so we want to be regulars.
Tasty mushrooms on toast and club sandwich. Even better coffee and has got real hot chocolate. Lovely fresh feel. Fast efficient service. Loved the decor and share table in middle. Thank you.
In the light of the moon, a little backpacker lay in a cupboard. One Sunday morning the warm sun came up and POP, out of the cupboard came a tiny, very hungry Laura. On Monday she ate through one apple but she was still hungry. On Tuesday she ate through one slice of apple and rhubarb crumble but she was still hungry. On Wednesday she ate through one slice of coconut and citrus tart but she was still hungry. On Thursday she ate through one coconut and lime ball but she was still hungry. On Friday she ate through five oranges but she was still hungry. On Saturday she ate through one piece of chocolate cake, one pickle, one slice of Swiss cheese, one slice of salami, one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, one sausage, one cupcake and one slice of slice of watermelon. That night she had a stomach ache! The next day was Sunday again. The backpacker ate through one nice leaf because that's all she could afford after all of her prior extravagant food purchases. After that she felt better. Now she wasn't hungry anymore - and she wasn't a little backpacker anymore. She was a big fat backpacker. She built herself a small house called an aeroplane around herself. She stayed inside it for more than two hours. Then she nibbled a hole in the aeroplane, pushed her way out and she was in Perth!Thank you for the delicious apple and rhubarb crumble, coconut and citrus tart, coconut and lime ball and coffee that you supplied me with over my last few days in Melbourne. They were really great, all three staff members I had dealings with were friendly and the kitchen staff all looked happy which is nice to see. Happiness is infectious. I came here on the recommendation of my room mate and I will continue the recommendation chain to anyone I know heading to St Kilda.
We came here for drinks - and the hot chocolate and coffee were good. The place was clean and the atmosphere wasn't bad.Unfortunately the service let this place down, and we wouldn't return. The guy who brought our coffee over looked out of the window, away from us, as he put it on the table and walked away without a word. He was then too distracted by someone he knew coming in the door while I went up to pay that he couldn't manage eye contact or a smile then either. It's a shame because this place could be very nice and relaxed, but the service was cold.
After a very hectic weekend my partner and myself opted for late Brunch to save ourselves the effort. We had wanted to try Hannah for awhile so opted to go here.I found it very impersonal. After seating ourselves in a quite cafe we had to grab our own menu. Help ourselves to water and then wait for the staff to serve us.3 staff stood behind the counter while another cleaned tables. Eventually we attracted their attention and ordered coffee and brunch. While eating we had deliberately placed empty coffee cups away from us for easy clearing. These remained at the table for the entire meal. Never did they ask if more coffee/drinks where required. No enquiry as to if we enjoyed our meals etc.Sure they are the little things, but they are the details that make you think I'll come back (or not).
