This family-owned hotel, on a quiet street, is only 2 blocks from the train station and a Migros grocery store. The Green Mile where the shops, restaurants, nicer hotels, and the Casino are, is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The room was clean and the reception good. Breakfast was included in the room price and offered a nice variety of items. The hotel has a new, small elevator. Laundry facilities are available at the back entrance to the hotel, right off the parking lot. Parking is free but is limited to first come, first served. There is a kitchenette with dishes, silverware, a microwave, and fridge for guests to use. This room is large enough for a couple of tables and 2 large couches for people to congregate. There is no AC so we were able to get a fan which helped somewhat. Our rather small room for 2 had only 1 chair. There was no coffee maker or phone in the room. There is an old phone booth for guests to use downstairs near the kitchenette. The room had an old shag carpet which made me feel that the floor was not as clean as it should be. Staff was very helpful and informative.
We stayed 5 nights in one of the apts. and was very glad that we chose the apt vs the hotel even though the buffet breakfast was not included. The location was prefect, 2 blocks from the Interlaken West train station, ferry boat to Lake Thun, Migos grocery store & mall. There is a small restaurant in this mall. There is a very good information center in the train station where we bought most of our tickets including a 3 day Jungfrau pass and tickets to Jungfraujoch. I found that tickets to Interlaken Ost where most of the mountain trains connect were not included in this pass but the guest card from the hotel included this train service along with local bus service and some discounts. Besides the location there is also free parking but very limited so once we got a parking place we did not use our car. I also appreciated the fact that there is a washing machine and dryer available though not free. This along with location was the main reason I chose this hotel. Loved the apt as it saved us time by fixing our own breakfast and saved money by being able to cook some meals. Interlaken is very very expensive and the meals are exceptionally expensive. I found that the meals in the mountain villages and attractions like on Jungfrau to be cheaper than in Interlaken. the apt was large enough for 2 beds, had a small kitchenette with small refrigerator. The beds were comfortable and the shower was average with good water pressure. There is no ac but I had requested a fan to be put in our room which helped. Our apt also had windows that opened to a balcony with a great view of the mountains. The hotel also has a common room with coffee & tea, a refrigerator where you can keep your groceries and sink. This was a nice plus especially being able to get coffee in the mornings without having to brew my own. The staff was very friendly and helpful and tried to please. I would definitely stay here again if in Interlaken which is a great place to base from.
Good little place to eat. Very busy and popular. Fast service and popular. Enjoyed the rosti and the waitress was very friendly and helpful
We enjoyed a relaxing casual dinner here with classic cheese fondue, salads and Swiss wine. The restaurant has good service and the layout was comfortable while modern. The fondue was very good and after a day of exploring the historic area of Bern. This is one of the more affordable options for dining with fondue with generous portions and a good selection of beer and wine. Actually the wine selection is extensive and it is a great place to try some of the coveted Swiss wines. There are options beyond fondue as well. We loved the checkerboard red and white table clothes, Not sure why but maybe the Swiss colors. It is popular with tourists and came recommended from an individual at Bern Tourism. Getting a table may be challenging during the peak season so go early if you want to be sure to get in and then get a drink at a roof top bar in the city.
