This happened to me the week before, so I specifically requested that they spread the mayonnaise all over. Unfortunately, they still didn’t do it. Having worked in a restaurant, I know it’s not that difficult. A dollop of mayonnaise in the center of a sandwich, with dry edges, just doesn't taste good. I probably wouldn't have returned if I hadn’t been with friends who wanted to go there.
This is a fantastic spot for a quick and light lunch with friends. I always go for the roast beef po' boy and potato salad. Sometimes, my food is served even before I’ve had a chance to sit down!
I don't understand why people are claiming this place is good. I visited today with my husband, and I ordered the ham and cheese po'boy while he had the shrimp and crawfish Diane. My sandwich was terrible; the French bread was so hard. When I mentioned this to the server, she seemed to have an attitude. My husband's meal was just okay, but honestly, I could have gone to Cane's and received better service! I will definitely not be returning or recommending this place to anyone!
Their bread pudding was amazing, don't care for the sauce that comes in the cup as it must have alcohol in it, but the dessert by itself is perfection! Really great sandwiches as well.
The fried pickles were to die for. The fish was really tender under-seasoned but still good. However, they don't give much fish, though. I ordered 1/2 catfish with a side of fried pickles and side salad. I actually got fried pickles with a side of catfish. The service was great. Will go here again. But I will ask for more fish.
