Contribuer aux commentairesA quick afternoon pick me up coffee on a windy day . An inviting looking coffee shop located on the Main Street of Kotka . Friendly service , but unfortunately both pastries a traditional Finnish lingonberry pie and Tosca slice were both dry , far too sugary and boring .
Nice opening hours! Every time the service is very friendly. Some are home baked (the cafe's own products), others come from another local bakery. There are pies and cakes and several gluten free products to choose.
Last fall, Kotka saw the opening of several new coffee shops. Among them, Pitko has become my favorite. It resembles a classic Finnish coffee shop, with a well-done interior and plenty of seating options, from cozy sofas to bar tables. Pitko is a great spot for coffee, tea, cakes, and even small lunches, offering slices of pies with salad. My go-to is the hot chocolate, although I must admit that it doesn't quite compare to the thick and delicious hot chocolates found in places like Prague or Lisbon. I hope that as the coffee and tea selections in Finland improve, so too will the hot chocolate at places like Pitko. Despite this, Pitko remains one of the best choices in Kotka. Be sure to also check out Cafe-Confectionary Coco by the market square.
Beautiful decor, excellent service, delicious Finnish-style semla pastries. The sandwiches are also very appetizing! Don't miss the afterwork happy hour with discounted sparkling wine.
Pitko is a recent addition to the array of cafes in the central area of Kotka. It is a convenient place to stop by for a nice cup of coffee and a pastry or some sweets to accompany it. The service was excellent, with all of our special requests being met with a friendly smile. The interior of the cafe is very clean and spacious, and they also offer speciality coffees.
