When we called to notify the restaurant they dodged us and said “how do you know it was our food?”The food was great but the service was lacking. The hostess didn’t want to seat us even though there were open tables. She vaguely said to come back in 20-25 minutes and said she couldn’t take our names down. Luckily there were bar chairs available so we chose to sit there. We noticed every party got seated after us and when we asked to move to an open table the hostess said she had to ask if there was a reservation even though she couldn’t take a reservation from us. This table we asked to be seated at remained open for the duration of our stay…Dietary restrictions: Severe gluten reaction
Luna Restaurant is a cozy little spot located in the village of Lake Placid. We recently had the pleasure of dining there for the second time, and both the food and service were just as excellent as our first visit two years ago. The marinara sauce is absolutely delightful! The portion sizes are quite generous as well. Overall, I would rate the food a perfect 5/5.
This was our second visit, and it was just as enjoyable as the first. On both occasions, the service has been outstanding—friendly and prompt. We tried two of the specials: the baked seafood and the chicken with mozzarella and red peppers on pasta. Both dishes were delicious and served in generous portions. Additionally, they serve warm bread with a garlic and olive oil dip, along with a salad. The wine pours are quite generous too. Luna definitely remains one of our go-to restaurants whenever we visit Lake Placid.
As for the kids, there were plenty of great options on the menu for them.
Food was disappointing as well as the menu. I had a burger and fries, and the burger was very okay. The fries tasted like fries oil with some structure. The other complaint I have is this was not what we were expecting when we saw Mediterranean food (typically we expected hummus and pita when we think Mediterranean food). I would not call it Mediterranean but American food.
