Contribuer aux commentairesA beautiful culinary experience. I'm looking forward to going back. I had high expectations at monteverde that were fulfilled. by far the highlight of the meal was the pasta per la tavola (ragu alla napoletana), which was equipped with excellent handmade pasta and an exquisite pork dog. the meatballs were additionally fantastic, surpassed in my opinion only of those of fabio vivani in siena tavern in river north. a little disappointing: the above dish, while a total level, was just on the negative side of the salt separation line (for me). the octopus spiedino was a little muddy, and the summer vegetable caesar salat was far enough of a traditional caesar that my perception of it was confused by the used nomenclature. pleasantly surprising: our friendly, attentive server offered a really brilliant, inexpensive wein suggestion, and the person among us who ordered a cocktail absolutely loved it. Moreover, a very appreciated touch, on the menu notices that some of the dishes currently contribute to hurricane harvey relief efforts, a very swelling nod from the immense talented chef grueneberg.
The question is that when they feed, they like a restaurant that allows the cook to demonstrate their skills and creativity or a place that meets their taste and their needs. monteverdi shows the ability of the owner and chef to present new ideas on traditional Italian creations and completely new concepts. we first ordered a snack of prosciutto, butter and radishes. this consisted on half a disc roggen plus the above ingredients. nothing you're coming to home. we ordered three small plates, consisting of an egg yolk raviolo, a gnochetti with pesto and a cacio molke. the pesto was fabulous, but the pasta tasted more like creamtte that the light fluffy sorts are known. the egg was cold and not very pleasant on the palette. the spaghetti like cachio was good. slightly spicy, but very tasty and served hot. the heavenly sorbet was perfect. great taste and perfect temperature. the problem is that when we asked for a slight change in some attitudes due to allergic problems, the personal was completely out of any changes. the chef makes it so and we do not make any changes to adapt to them problems was the message. Take it or leave it. many other restaurants in the same opposite with even more prestigious chefs always try their best to make the customers happy. with so many good decisions in this area, we will choose in future others.
Had a great meal. it was our second time there. we loved eating, but we were overwhelmed, how loud the restaurant was. While eating was excellent, I am not sure that I would like to spend this kind of money there again.
From beginning to end, eating in monteverde was an amazing and extraordinary experience. our server rose was helpful and helped us to run through the entire feed process. I had been looking forward to eating here for months and it was not disappointed. this was one of the top food experiences I ever had.
Went based on great hype for our anniversary. It was so loud and fast paced that we really couldn't relax and enjoy anything. The plates were very small and the servers quick explanations weren't helpful suggestions, as we were left unsatisfied with what was ordered 2 apps/ small plates, 3 pastas) they were busy and rushed and we had to shout to hear each other. The food itself was good, nice flavors and cooked properly. We had no desire to relax and get a bottle of wine, and actually couldn't wait to get the check and go get more food somewhere else. I was disappointed overall.
