Matsuya - Markham

This restaurant offers decent Hong Kong-style Western food. Don't expect a 5-star dining experience, but if you're looking for a budget-friendly steak option, you can find a decent one for under $20 here. The portions are good and the service is very fast.

I recommend trying the Western-style dishes at this Hong Kong restaurant. The portions are generous and prices are reasonable. It's convenient to order ahead for takeout. I highly recommend trying the baked pork with spaghetti in tomato sauce.

I decided to check out this restaurant. The food was average for the price. The flavors were okay, similar to other Hong Kong style cafes. We ordered takeout for 2 o'clock, and when we arrived, the food was prepared but our order was mixed up. We had to wait an extra 10 minutes for the correct order. Despite there being only 3 tables in the dining room, there were 4 staff members working. I think the restaurant could improve its efficiency and organization. Overall, it's just an average restaurant.

Often comes here before pandemic. breakfast was great, I even ordered at the beginning of the shutdown in 2020. last week, my first time after the reopening was there. we're here at 15 o'clock, there were many people. the tables are quite crowded in the middle, while only sitting on the side can keep a bit social distance. the food is delicious and the customer service is as usual good.

The food was good but the service and attitude of some servers were terrible. They close at 8pm, we arrived at 7pm, since we arrived the lady checking our vaccine documentation was already rushing us and upset with the fact we only speak English and we didn’t understand when she spoke to us. While I was waiting for my dish, I noticed they had a kind of soup I really love, I told this other lady (with short hair) that I wanted to order one soup, immediately she said “Yes, but it is $3.00”. Did I ever impIy I was expecting to eat for free? Finally, my order came and we decided to order 2 more dishes at 7:35, one served took our order and was abruptly interrupted by the lady with short hair, she shouted at her in Cantonese for taking our order and told us that the last call for food was 7:30. It is curious because one person came in at 7:40 and was still able to place his order. Terrible service, save yourself a bad moment and go to other restaurant. There are excellent restaurants in Markham that are authentic Korean. There are also lots of great Hong Kong style restaurants in the area, with good food and good service.
