They even had a small salad bar that I used to make a small salad. I ordered...a curry shrimp with rice as my main course that was flavorful but could had used more shrimp. I then had a crepes with strawberries and chocolate with vanilla ice cream that was huge and very yummy. I highly recommend this place even though it is an open restaurant in the middle of Oviedo mall. The restaurant is very popular with the locals and they are dressed to impress. The bill can to approximately 36 USD and it was totally worth it.
Cafe le Gris is an open aire, upscale, restaurant located in the Oviedo shopping mall on the Milla de Oro (Golden Mile) between Poblado and Envigao, Medellin, Colombia. Whenever I have visited Medellin over the past 16 years I’ve always had several meals at Cafe...le Gris, and have never been anything but impressed with their service and the quality fo the cuisine. Their “Plato Aleman” has always fondly reminded me of the meals I used to eat in Düsseldorf, Germany! This most recent visit I had the bacon wrapped Filet Mignon, with the red wine and mushroom sauce on the side. The filet was top quality, a beef with the right level of tenderness that yields immediately to the knife, has a rich texture and taste, and is cooked perfectly to order. The red wine and mushroom sauce isn’t needed, but is a nice occasional accompaniment; although I prefer good beef to stand on it’s own merits. The bar is excellent, the mojito reminded me instantly of being beachside in Miami or Palm Beach, and was a nice pairing with the salad bar before the meal. The 18 year Glenfiddich was of course wonderful beside the filet, which was accompanied by cooked carrots, peas and broccoli, with still a bit of a snap in an olive oil and slightly honey tasting glaze, and vapor cooked potatoes with cilantro. We didn’t have dessert, but did follow lunch with espresso and amaretto, and it didn’t disappoint. Easily better than most baristas produce, and a wonderful way to end a rich tasting few hours. The service is always fantastic! The atmosphere is light, with folks walking into and out of the mall spaces just beyond. Time passes leisurely here. Among the types of folks you’ll find are the well to do, well dressed ladies doing lunch, the mostly male business crowd, and the vacationers or families, like us, who want to soak up some local feel. All blends together in a delicious people watching experience! Afterward visit the great shops in the large, well appointed, Oviedo mall. Happy Travels!
I Came here to celebrate a family birthday. It was really an excellent choice and made everyone feel happy. Service is really outstanding, all the people working at Cafe Le Gris are looking forward to provide the best and make you feel special. Food, another...excellent thing here. Cafe Le Gris has a lot of options, all of them are perfect. Salads, main course, desserts, you won’t be disappointed with any selection you make. A lot of variety in wines and liquors to make a perfect match with your meal. Prices are high, but it is absolutely worth it. What to do after eating? This place is located one beautiful shopping mall, so you can spend a lot of time walking and having a pleasant time with family or friends. Hope to come back soon.
There were in a very beautiful and good place, and it is in Oviedo shopping center. I was there the last year. Befor the quarantine I went to Caffe le gris every Fridays with my Family. Always when I was in Cafe le Gris, I...order a Club Sandich, because it has many thinks that I like, it has: tomato, lettuce, chicken, sauce, bacon, ham, and potatoes, and I need to say that the potatoes very good and delicious, because are very soft and salty. Many people say that Cafe le Gris is very bada, but I think the otherwise. But you have to go a bit fancy, but this is normal, because is a Fancy restaurant. And other important topic of this restaurant, is that, Cafe le Gris had a very good service, ist quickly and delicius. I think it is more better Cafe le gris than Mack Donalds or BurgerKing. I love them.
