Not nearly enough staff!! Managed to call someone out of the kitchen as queues at hot drinks counter waiting due to no milk. After 10 orvdo minutes staff then arrived act like they have overdosed on night nurse. Couldn't catch anyone's eye to ask about the soya milk being replenished!! Dashed off too quickly. What a dreadful place
My friend and I visit Ikea about every 4 months to have a mooch about and always come away with something which had not been planned. Part of our visit is to have lunch in the restaurant. We now have our visit down to a fine art. We visit the showroom and normally finish there at about 11:30am. It's normally not too busy in the restaurant and we get there just before the rush. If you have never been to an Ikea restaurant I can definitely recommend having the meatballs with gravy and lingonberry sauce. You can have mash or chips. For dessert round off your Swedish lunch with a portion of Daim cake. They do plant based meatballs if you prefer these and they also do other types of food like fish and chips or pasta. They also cater for children too. If you are a member of the Ikea Family scheme you can have a free hot drink however if you want a cold fizzy drink you have to pay for this. The restaurant is set up like a canteen and you queue for your meal then pay for it, get your cutlery, condiments and drinks and find a seat. They encourage you to clear away your trays when you finish and generally the staff are quite quick to wipe down tables ready for the next customer. I've never had a bad experience here. Highly recommended!
We have not been to ikea for years since they closed the Coventry branch. We expected their old quality and service. How wrong we were. Queued for half an hour to get cold food , overcooked chips and a miniscule helping of peas. We then had to wait ages at the till (only 2 open) When we finally paid we found all but one coffee machine was broken so more waiting. Our meals were freezing cold and we had to microwave them. Won’t be back
I popped into the store and had an early lunch. The breakfast menu was already in full swing and with a long queue. They opened the other side of the restaurant around 11am for the lunch menus. I was served very quickly and used my family card to obtain further discounts. Couldn’t ask for more. It’s basic, but a more healthy version than McDonalds! Plus free refills too!
