This charming little restaurant is family-owned and truly a hidden gem. It was my first visit, but I hope it won't be my last, even though I am not a Milwaukee resident. The cleanliness and hygiene of the place stood out, which can be a concern at many small establishments, but not at Blue Star. The food was so fresh that you could almost eat off the floors, although I wouldn't recommend it! The delightful aroma greeted me as soon as I approached the door, making my mouth water and making it difficult to decide what to order. Despite being behind two other customers, our food arrived quickly, and everything we ordered was made fresh. They offered both vegan and non-vegan options, and the customer service, including meeting the chef, was exceptional. It felt like being at home in my grandmother's kitchen. The food was cooked with love and every bite was filled with joy. The atmosphere was warm, family-friendly, and inviting.
I absolutely adored this restaurant! It's definitely a hidden gem in the area. The food is incredibly fresh, delicious, and bursting with flavor. I will definitely be returning the next time I am in town and would highly recommend it to others.
If you're unsure, don't hesitate and come dine here! Your taste buds will thank you later! Ever since I moved to the east side, Blue Star has been my go-to spot. Everything on the menu is a safe bet. The service is friendly and professional, and the portion sizes are generous, especially considering the price. I often get two meals out of the Kay Kay platter because it's just so delicious I want it to last me two days. The Kay Kay dish is probably my favorite thing on the menu. It's piled high with tasty, broth-soaked ciabatta, raisins, potato, onion, and your choice of meat. And don't forget to order a side of either hummus or sambusas, of course!
If you have a hesitation, take care of how to hesitate a beetle and eat here! Your taste buds will thank you later! As long as I lived in the east side, I came to the blue star! You can't go wrong with anything in the menu. Service is so friendly and professional. Servings are much large, especially at the price! I get two meals from Kay Kay Kay or plates, especially because it's so good that I want to take it 2 days. Kay Kay Kay is probably my favorite thing on the menu. They stack this evil boy high with delicious, brooded ciabatta, raisins, potatoes, onions and the choice of meat. And you have to get a spider of hummus or sambusas, obviously!!
From the moment I left, I was very happy. This little restaurant is a family treasure. It was my first visit and hopefully not my last one. Unfortunately, I'm not a resident of Milwaukee. It is clean and sanitary, which is a big problem for many small businesses, but not them, not with Blue Star. You could eat from the ground, but not. Lol Before I could open the door, the aroma filled the air. My mouth watered so much I could hardly order. When everything we ordered was fresh and the fact that we were behind two others, I was surprised how fast the food arrived. She had vegan and non- vegan options. Customer service (we met the cook) was from this world. I thought I was home in my grandmother's kitchen. The food had love and joy in every bite. The atmosphere is family-friendly and welcoming.
