The staff, mostly young, provided excellent, friendly, and efficient service. The food was of high quality and offered good value for the price. Overall, it was a truly fantastic dining experience. Special mention to our server Hayley, who did an excellent job.
We made a reservation for lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday during our family New Year break. The Parrot was very welcoming, with comfortable chairs by the fire. The food in the restaurant was good, although the dining area was a little cool, possibly because we had just left the warm bar. Overall, it had a great atmosphere and we would recommend it.
I have allergies to vinegar and alcohol, so I made sure to inform the waitress about my dietary restrictions. However, despite my precautions, my burger still arrived with vinegar in the form of gherkin, coleslaw, and salad dressing. The food had to be sent back three times before it was finally corrected. Unfortunately, it seems that the kitchen staff only removed the gherkins and didn't replace the meat patty, causing me to suffer from my allergies for days afterwards. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Went here for a lunchtime drink and snack with friends. The food was fairly good (Chicken Skewers and cheesy chips) but rather expensive for what it was. However one friend had to wait an age for a sandwich and chips. To the extent that others...had finished by the time we questioned. Was told that it was called and were looking for you??? Well it was with the other meals? Then informed I'll just go and get it a further minutes?? Just wish people would admit they made a mistake and not lie!
Superb location, quaint, picturesque, rural, lovely lawn areas but ... Food overpriced, although decent quality (tuna sandwich bar staff on duty (a very warm sunny Bank Holiday Monday) distracted and not very efficient dreadful garden furniture (rotted, broken and...far too few outdoor tables) desperately in need of replacement
