This place used to be a high end gourmet restaurant- it’s now a more relaxed snack place. We totally enjoyed our dinner. Lovely huge Caesar salad. Delicious nachos- good wine selection. On point music. Nice views. Good ambiance with a fireplace
Only eat here if you love waiting 55 minutes for your food and no one coming by to say anything or check on you. Salad and poutine shouldn't take that long . If you want stale nachos you have 2 options. Go home and leave a bag of nacho chips open in the sun for one week or order them from this restaurant.. same same. The food was mediocre at best. We only went there because the line at the other locations was to long. That explains it.
Tasty standard steak tartare, and mostly friendly service. I ordered a mushroom flatbread and it was far too buttery to eat. It was not on a crust but almost some kind of flaky shortbread, and the mushrooms had additionally been cooked in butter. There was not much flavour and I could not eat more than a bite. I tried even taking the mushrooms off the top and eating them with crostini same problem. I order this dish almost any time it is on a menu, so I was disappointed that it was far from standard. When the waiter asked, I explained and he asked if I’d like to take it to go. I said no, as to me it was not edible. There was no attempt to make it right. We paid full price.
A disappointing experrience we had last night. Let me start off by saying I dont like writing bad reviews but I wont stand for poor service and being made to feel like we have been taken advantage of. Ive worked in many professional kitchens in my life and this is by far the worst ive seen. 2 of my friends had ordered nachos. They took a few bites and just couldnt finish them. I took a bite and to my surprise they were stale chips being used accompanied by dark looking fried chicken pieces. Not to mention the lack of cheese and huge chunks of raw onion and peppers. When we told the waiter this he got the Manager who told us they make the chips from scratch and the recipe is an old mexican recipe. On top of that he told us its a best seller. I encourage anyone to order this dish and tell me its good. You would have to be blind and without tastebuds to be tricked by this place. He sent the waiter back to us and told gave them a 15% discount. Lastly the drink i recieved was a sad attempt at a mojito, wattered down and without much flavour, I had ordered a whiskey sour. I was told they didnt have what I wanted on the menu. Why not tell me that so I could make another choice instead of deciding for me. In closing this is not how an establishment should operate. We were made to feel like we were in the wrong. If 4 people can agree that there is something wrong with the food I think something is wrong with the food.Take your chances but I would stay away from this place.
