For our Entrées, we had a 10oz New York steak and the Seafood Fettuccine. They were both to ourliking. We finished with the Blackout Torte. Perfect for date night. The drink prices were cheap and came out cold. Our waitresswas polite, friendly and attentive. We are visiting from Alberta and can say this has been our best culinary experience in MooseJaw. Glad we made the choice to come!
Ordered a $44.00 steak. Medium rare. Steak came average of 1/4 thick and well done all throughout. Did even appear to be 12oz. Never have received such a thin cut meat at a restaurant in my life. When I mentioned it to the waitress in a very polite way.She reply that's sad to hear. Definitely won't recommend a steak there. Brothers 10oz prime rib was twice the size and quitegood.
Came in with a large group (20-24) Jan 28, 2023. Other than 1 other table when we got there, we were the only group in the restaurant. The manager and 2 other waitresses watched while 1 waitresses did everything. Actually sitting at a table instead of helping with drinks, food orders or bringing out meals. Worst managed restaurant I’ve ever been to. Anytime we go as a group every restaurant has 2-3 servers for larger groups. Food was excellent but took over 2.5 hours before we were done. Our waitress did excellent considering she got no help from the other 3.
We were excited to finally try Streets as we hadn't been yet. When we arrived the parking lot was full so we were anticipating a great meal to be had. Boy were we disappointed. We were told that wings were half price and schooners of beer were on sale. We decided to order some wings which it appeared all the patrons in the bar were eating. The wings were really good and we would definitely be back for those. However, our order of the 8oz steak and jambalaya was beyond disappointing. The steak was ordered medium rare but arrived well done. The cut was good but it was over cooked. As my boyfriend is a beef producer he'd like to have steakhouses know how to cook a steak properly so customers have an enjoyable experience. The sides were sad looking as the tiny corn on the cob look like it was overcooked and too much seasoning salt with no butter accompanying it. My jambalaya was over sauced and couldn't taste anything but the spicy sauce. The rice was lumpy and I just ate the sausage, chicken and shrimp after patting all the sauce off of it. The waitress did come by and ask how are meals were when she was informed that the steak was over cooked she did offer to have another one cooked for him. He decided to eat what was given to him as he hates to see food go to waste. I decided to keep quiet as I never like to return food in a restaurant as you never know what you'll be getting back. After our meal was done, my boyfriend decided to talk to the waitress about why he was disappointed in the cooking of the steak, done in a extremely polite tone and way, he was met with the waitress rolling her eyes, a hostile tone and rude demeanour. As stated the wings were really good and that was the saving grace of the evening.
We visited Moose Jaw this weekend. I did a lot of research as to which steakhouse would be best for our first meal as a newly engaged couple. After looking at the menu for Streets we decided to go there for some nice steaks and seafood. Menu on their website looked amazing. A bit pricey but I don 't mind spending a bit extra on a nice meal. Our surprise when we arrived at Streets is the menu is no where close to what was on their website. No lobster tails, no scallops, no king crab. We considered leaving at that point but the ambiance seemed nice and we decided to give it a go. We both ordered the ribeye $43/each. I upgraded with the Shrimp in creole butter $5 extra. Tasted like frozen shrimp with Chili powder on them and over cooked. The Mushrooms in White garlic sauce $5 extra consisted of burnt onions and undercooked mushrooms with maybe a hint of salt on them. No where did I see a white garlic sauce. The steaks were about 1/4 thick and no where near the medium rare that we asked for. More like well done on both. I 'm a big eater and never leave a piece of meat on my plate after a good steak. I barely choked down half the steak . The steak itself had no seasoning on it. The stuffed potato skin was burnt so bad I could not cut through it with my steak knife. The highlight of our meal was the mashed potatoes my fiance got with her steak they were just alright. Other highlight of the night was the pizza we ordered from BP 's after our meal at Streets to fill us up. Our server was good, very friendly, ambiance was nice but no where near worth the $180 bill we got at the end of the meal. Very disappointing. My advice to the owners of Streets. Go to Saskatoon and eat at Carvers. See what a $40-$50 ribeye looks and tastes like and seriously re think the pricing on your menu.
