Naantalin Merisali

Adorable restaurant right on the shore with a lot of hubbub to watch while eating as boats are mooring up and leaving. The buffet is well worth the money. Live music at night and loads of locals. The most popular place around and has been for decades. Authentic. Typical architecture of the area inside and out.

Lunch buffet was still great, especially fish and salat table. Service on ordering not really great, somehow made me feel like stupid if you don’t know beforehand what to do... Great view!!!

Every time I visit Finland I have to come here. I especially love the starters of all the different types of fish smojed salmon, salmon, picked herring etc. Somehow i always manage a main course, the beef is particularly nice. The building is so unique, full of history in a wonderful setting.

Merisali is really at the seaside in Naantali old town. In late summer evenings nice place to have one for the road.

We stopped for drinks outside on the terrace looking out on the marina. The restaurant is self-service. You can sit on the terrace or inside. It is very nicely decorated inside. We didn't eat so I can't comment on the food.
