I ordered a bowl of matzo ball soup and a white fish bagel sandwich, and with a 15% tip, the total came to $42. That's outrageous! The food quality was just average. What a disappointment!
This is a classic deli in NYC situated on 3rd Avenue. Although the space is small, you can choose to sit at a table or on the balcony. The menu offers a variety of options, but the corned beef and pastrami appear to be the most popular choices. I tried the corned beef sandwich, which consisted solely of bread and meat. It was decent, but nothing extraordinary.
Great food in an unpretentious setting with friendly service. We wanted to try authentic kosher cuisine while visiting NY so we headed to PJ Bernstein's deli. We both had chicken soup which was delicious, my husband had the bomb knish and I had the Reuben, thank goodness only a half as it was huge! All superb, would definitely recommend.
The pastrami was delicious, and the soups were even better. I highly recommend the summer (cold) borscht, though the pea soup was fantastic as well. You can choose to sit inside or outside.
