I often come here for Sunday brunch, although it can get quite crowded (like most brunch spots). The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is delicious without any issues, and the coffee is consistently perfect. I highly recommend this place.
This place is going to be my new favorite spot. Even though I live in Altona, it's worth the trip because the coffee is excellent, the atmosphere is peaceful, the place is clean, and the staff is friendly. The jaffles are delicious, just like the ones I make at home. The prices are affordable as well. Overall, I'm happy to have discovered this cafe.
Pram, baby, and child-friendly with tasty food, and a spacious backyard for kids to play, this cafe is a great dining spot for families with young children. The portions are also generous, which is a plus.
We tried Jace’s Friday night Korean and were pretty happy! The fried chicken was so tasty and bibimbap bowl was also delicious! Text your order and they text when it’s ready to pick up or they deliver for $5. Great addition to the area!
Getting a bite to eat for dinner is not an easy task in Newport with the limited number of places open for dinner. So The Backyard 's Friday night openings is a welcomed addition to the area!!<br/ <br/ We visited The Backyard 's 'Jace night ' for dinner.<br/ They offer mainly Thai influenced fried chicken and bibimbap to celebrate both the owners and staff 's cultures.<br/ <br/ We ordered some fried chicken (bones), vegetarian bibimbap (tofu and egg for protein) and a side of Jace 's creamy potato and pasta salad.<br/ <br/ The bibimbap was a very colourful dish thanks to the variety of vegetables. The veggies and protein was served on a bed of brown rice making the dish a little more healthier than it already is. The serving size is also quite generous and justifies the $16 price tag. It came with a side of gochujang sauce that has a sweeter and less spicy flavour to the original gochujang sauce usually used for cooking in Korean cuisine. We thought all of the flavours worked quite well and tasted more authentic than we had thought it would which was a nice suprise.<br/ <br/ The chicken was definitely the highlight. For $20, you get a generous serve of ribs and drumlet pieces of fried chichen. The batter has some herbs and seasoning which made it taste so good without any sauce. But the chicken comes with 3 dipping sauces(tomato, sweet chilli and spicy) for those who need a little more flavour. I personally eat mine with out dipping it into any sauces.<br/ <br/ We also had the creamy pototo and pasta salad which was also quite nice.<br/ <br/ We were completely full from out dinner and satisfied with our dinner. If the place was closer to where we live, we would definitely be regular customers.<br/ <br/ If you are in the area and in search for a feed on a Friday night, give Backyard a go. They mainly provide takeaway and delivery but have just recently opened up their space for eat ins as well.<br/ Just make sure you have cash on you as its cash only at night.<br/
