When our table was ready (it had been ready since we arrived) we sat down and asked for a parrillada. It was then that they apprised us that their grill was not working. Had we known that from the outset, we wouldn 't have stayed, however we were already consuming. We ordered BBQ ribs, purportedly cooked on a griddle. When we started eating, due to their texture, we knew right away that the ribs had been oven-roasted. Furthermore, the Pulpo á feira was salty ad nauseam and we got food poisoned afterwards. To add insult to injury, the prices were unconscionable. The waiter was friendly, though, so not everything was bad. Bottom line: avoid this tourist trap like the plague.
We had just arrived in O Grove, and came across this lovely restaurant that managed to squeeze us in despite not having a reservation. Wonderful Tosta with octopus and cheese to begin, followed by succulent sole and hake. Strongly recommended.
My friend who lives locally took me here for lunch. The grilled pulpo octopus) was gorgeous and I had a wonderful piece of bacalao a la brasa bbq salt cod) that was succulent and not too salty. The desert of coulant chocolate sponge with a chocolate sauce filling) with lemon sorbet was melt in the mouth. Would definitely visit again.
