The dishes served here, from the famed crab pasta to the original blue cheese and apple pizza, are all originals, remodeled or reshaped by the experienced hand of the owner. He will protest that it's the ingredients, not his skill, that makes the flavor sing. His experience undoubtedly chooses the right ingredients, and his manner will charm and delight, as he loves to talk, listen and laugh with his customers. Come for a meal, leave with a memory.
We were made to feel very welcome and the food was delectable, so was the local Otaru wine. The owner is keen on whiskey and has a great selection! Can't recommend enough.
The crab pasta is the star of the restaurant. If you only have room for 1 dish, order crab pasta! We visit the chef since his old restaurant. We are glad he decided to reopen another nice restaurant!
A very homey shop that's run by an older man and had the assistance of a younger person. They're a shop you don't really notice at first but definitely known by locals and recommended by them. They take reservations, and I would highly recommend it if you do decide to go there. The food is amazing here at a great price. I was with a party of 5 and we ordered 5 dishes: Crab spaghetti (which they're known for) the taste resides in the sauce they use that tasted of the crab brain/eggs. So delicious! Seems to also have some sort of milk or coconut milk mixed in. The spaghetti surprisingly was cooked just to the right firmness and normally my crowd and I are very particular about how our pasta is cooked. We ordered one extra plate of rice because of the delicious sauce Salad was another dish we ordered it had very fresh and crisps leaves, carrots, red and yellow peppers, tomato, celery and a really good dressing that tasted of balsamic vinegar and olive oil mix) A seafood Pizza consisted of squid, smaller similar to oyster type mushrooms, shrimp and uni. The pizza was similar to flatbread style, I think it could have been toasted a little more but it was good nonetheless A beef curry and mini curry set the beef curry contained ground beef in tiny squares, it was a good spice. Not the type of Japanese curry I expected but so far from trying curry in Hokkaido it seems that their typical curry style is soup like. The curry also came with an egg cooked very nicely. We had two extra plates of rice with this. Beef Stew cooked super soft, breaks away in your mouth easily, felt like it was slow cooked. The sauce was super delicious too. Very differnt from their curry and crab sauce taste. We ordered three plates of extra rice because their sauces were AMAZING. It felt like such a waste their food with lots of sauce doesn't come with sliced bread or rice on the side or something that allows you to utilize the ample sauce without wasting it becauss it was THAT good! Hence the three bowls of rice. We also got a beer and hot tea, all for less $95 (usd). One of us wanted to drink wine because of their good selection but we ended up not so if you were interested in wine, it's also a thought. Overall we were extremely satisfied by the food and the ambience. We stayed for approximately an hour and they had a full house for most of it.
Excellent everything. Nice jazz music on the background. We sat at the bar. Ate mixed seafood starter which was superb, followed by fresh crunchy mixed salad. Then pizza margherita...light and very tasty. Then beef stew. Excellent. The guy who runs the place does everything by himself. Just 75 years young and going strong. A character. Really lovely time
