Restaurante O Forno - Porto Santo

This was a small establishment with great local beer and on the main street, but still far enough away to feel remote. While we did not eat, a customer came in and ordered grilled meat served on a huge kabob, which hangs from the table. It smelled divine and the customer yummied it all down. We enjoyed beer and free WiFi while talking with the proprietor. He spoke excellent English as well as Spanish. Not only was there seating inside, but also limited seating outside. The view was of beautiful greenery, leading to a golf course/resort. The streets are very narrow, so traffic cannot speed by at dizzying speeds. This was a beautiful, bucolic island that we cannot wait to return for more exploration. And if the food, drink and hospitality we encountered are typical, it is a must see and do!

PT: Tentámos jantar no dia 08/08 e apesar de metade das mesas estar livre e muitas sem o sinal de reservado o funcionário jovem que estava pelas 21h foi muito rude e mandou-nos esperar várias vezes sem mais explicações. Chegou um casal depois de nós, pediu mesa e foi logo sentado, sem reserva... Talvez por serem gente local.. Nunca mais voltarei nem recomendo. ENG: We tried to have dinner on 08/08 and despite half of the tables being free and many without a reserved sign, the young employee who was at 9pm was very rude and told us to wait several times without further explanation. A couple arrived after us, asked for a table and was immediately seated, without reservation... Maybe because they are local people.. I will never go back nor recommend.

Amazing food and good service. We enjoyed everything and for sure we will be back when we return to Porto Santo. Worth a visit if you around and looking for some good food.

Went there for lunch yesterday. We ordered the chicken! We liked it a lot! Service def. could be improved though... :

Friendly service in this cafe bar restaurant on the main road of Porto Santo. Wine was pricy for this type of establishment, and the food was plentiful, but the chicken didn 't taste great, and as another reviewer suggested, tasted somehow 'dry '. I am not sure how they cook it, but it was one of the worst roast chickens we have had!
