Local Roots - ROUND TOP

Delicious chicken tender salad! I chose the ranch dressing and it was soooo good. Pasta salad delish too!

Charming little spot for creative, hand crafted coffee drinks, sandwiches, salads and treats Local Roots is conveniently located in the heart of the Round Top “downtown” area with antiques and art galleries mere steps away. It was perfect for our party who worked up an appetite while shopping all day! The owner was so sweet— even though her cafe was BUSY busy BUSY she made the time to make us feel at home, come by to check on us and brew us fresh iced tea. Doesn’t get more hospitable than that!!

Ordered a salad (the Thunderbird I think) and asked for it without chicken, as I’m vegetarian. It was so disappointing. Literally looked like a $2 grocery store salad bag had been dumped into a paper container. When I asked why the avocado was missing from my salad, the excuse was that the local shop had run out. I should have been informed of this when I ordered. Not good enough for $15. Pretty outrageous actually. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else.

Is this place ever open? Saturday at 1:15pm and closed. Second time this year I have been to Roundtop on a Saturday and both times they have been closed. So disappointed!

Mostly sandwiches and coffee type drinks. Nothing fantastic, but a quick decent lunch. A little pricey though
