People who arrived after us were being served before us. It was those who had ordered wine/drinks, which...was everyone but us. You know the meal service is slow when our water glasses were refilled three times before our meals arrived. My husband and I ordered the in-house pizza. Our three cousins ordered salmon tartare not cooked and a salad. We watched table after table after table after table being served before us. Our food finally arrived at p.m. just minutes shy of a whole hour. Virtually all the people who arrived after us ate (and consumed a bottle of wine and more) and left before we got to coffee. Our little group may have appeared retired which we are not. In fact, we are business owners who can set our hours. And ageism is no excuse for being treated differently. And not ordering alcohol is not a reason to be treated differently. We will not go again. Yes, we are seniors. And, we will take our business elsewhere.
The food quality was excellent, but the portion sizes of the pasta dishes were not very satisfying. The staff was friendly and laid-back. This is a typical Italian restaurant, nothing exceptional but not bad either. Overall, my rating is out of 5 stars.
The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious. It's perfect for both large receptions and small groups. The menu features simple Italian dishes that are executed perfectly.
We attended a corporate dinner at this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the ability of the staff to create a friendly intimate feel despite the large size of our sitting.Excellent presentation, service and ambiance. We will return.
My wife and I were looking for a venue to host a reception for our daughter and her fiance. We had initially chosen a restaurant in Griffintown, but we were advised to check out La Piazza before making a final decision. Although we had dined at La Piazza before and always enjoyed our meals, it hadn't occurred to us to host an event there. After hearing positive reviews from others, we decided to meet with Billy to discuss our requirements, including the number of guests, the type of crowd we were expecting, and our budget. Billy presented us with a comprehensive plan that exceeded our expectations, so we chose to hold our event at La Piazza. The room was perfect, with excellent lighting, table settings, and napkin placements. The food was delicious, from the hors d'oeuvres to the desserts. The evening flowed smoothly, thanks to the attentive staff, and our guests had a great time. Whether you're planning a party or a romantic dinner for two, I highly recommend considering La Piazza Le Challenger.
