Shogun Japanese - Santa Cruz

I had a fantastic dining experience in downtown Santa Cruz!

I took a lovely lady here for our first date and the food was fabulous! 10/10 rating.

The quality of the restaurant is decent, but the prices are higher compared to other options. We paid nearly $100 for carryout for two people, without alcohol or appetizers. The large miso soup was $10 and only filled two small bowls. There was very little wasabi and the cucumber salad was small. I was disappointed to find imitation crabmeat in the high-end specialty rolls. The carryout quality was not as good as dining in. Overall, it's okay but not worth the high cost in my opinion. It may be convenient for tourists, but locals have better options, like Sushi San in Felton.

A wonderful sushi stop! The staff were extremely friendly, and everything we ate tasted fresh and flavorful! Highly recommended the Superstar roll!

Salmon appetizer, shrimp tempura avocado cucumber roll, miso soup all were tasty.
