Nostalgic little café in the woods. I like the idea behind this place. Natural, organic, ?REAL FOOD? from scratch. It?s a GREAT objective, but food needs to taste great as well. I?m always a matcha girl, but I didn?t like the matcha here. It tasted morewatery, rather than creamy. And it had a spicy note of flavor to it, like a spiced chai, but with a lot more kick. I personallydon?t think the flavors go well together but then again I like my matcha on the sweet side, sometimes with a splash of coconut.I did enjoy the Mexican chocolate chai, it tasted, not far from as I had imagined it, and I enjoyed the kick it had since thenotes pair nicely together, but did wish it had a bit more cream. The quiche was pretty good, my kids enjoyed it, but I wasn?ta fan of the crust, which was the part I was most looking forward to since it was gluten free. It was extremely dry and evenhard to cut. I think it was made with corn meal. Personally I?d go with a flaky sour cream gf ?pie? crust. There?s many ways tomake it but I do mine with an all purpose gluten free flour, baking powder, salt, butter, sour cream, etc. It would pairflavorful with this quiche. The eggs on the other hand were to the perfect texture. It said it came with meat but the generous?slice? I got only had only a few very very small pieces. But as I know not every slice is going to be equal, so I may have justended up with a lacking slice. I still would have enjoyed more meat like in the photos. It also came with gluten free bread. They were also very generous with the bread slices, which were mostly end pieces but still good nonetheless. However, since thegf bread is a more dense, dry bread rather than a soft moist bread, I would have preferred it heated up a bit more because theywere REALLY hard, like cardboard, but after taking them home, heating them up and adding some butter they were enjoyable. I alsoordered a sandwich, which didn?t quite look like the ones on Facebook. I don?t know if I would
What a great little local treasure this place is. Amazingly fresh and tasty food. Great breads and baked good. Amazing coffee. We will be back here. The best food I have had in Talkeetna. Beautiful mushrooms growing in the gardens. Couldn?t stop admiringthem.
We celebrated our wedding at Wortlkamp on 29.09.2020 and had a really perfect day in so difficult times. We've been in the pre-conferences and the big day, we've been well off and felt good! The food was lovingly dressed and we still receive the best feedback on the service and the ambience. The premises are very warm and the staff was very dedicated at all times and strives to fulfill every wish!
We got on the 3rd. July our wedding in the Landhaus Wortlkamp. It was a great day that exceeded all our ideas. Our guests (46 people DJ singers) were not only enthusiastic about the excellent food and the very courteous service, but also the beautiful ambience has made us forget about Corona this evening. Despite the Corona requirements, the Schneider family and their team have done everything possible to prepare us for such a special day. The cooperation was very warm at all times and Simone Schneider had always an open ear for us for our worries and extra wishes. We can ask anyone who wants to marry this year or is looking for a magical location for another occasion to put the Landhaus Wortlkamp to the heart! Many, thank you very much for making this possible for us in the near future! Come again, until soon Eva Maria and Christian Sarzio
