The Painted Lemon - Sherman

This charming small-town restaurant offers an intimate atmosphere and personalized service. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with an excellent menu selection. However, the service was quite slow and our appetizers were forgotten. Despite this, the staff did put together our desserts and coffee, which we appreciated. We will definitely return on our next visit to Connecticut. Overall, we give it 4 stars for the food and atmosphere, and 2 stars for the waiting time and service.

In a word... The food was excellent, the atmosphere pleasant and the service incredible. Great pizza, mouth irrigation gnocchi, excellent seafood. So let me ask; why are you going somewhere else?!

The food here is delicious, and the menu has plenty of choices for different moods without being overwhelming. My wife and I feel like we're adults eating sophisticated food, and my kids eat the food enthusiastically as well! But hey, lots of places have good food. The reason we always think of this place when we're deciding where to eat/order from is because the staff are just outstanding. The customer service is truly exceptional. Tonight, the delivery.com delivery guy never showed up to pick up our food to bring, and someone from the restaurant got in her car to bring it to us. They always go the extra mile, and it's why this is our favorite Italian place, and, now that I think about it, favorite restaurant, in the area. My 7 year old son wants me to add that, when you're done, the food leaves you full.

The reviews for this restaurant were amazing. However, I was caught off guard when we walked in and were told they would have to check if they had space outside without a reservation. The strange part was that the place was really empty. I didn't realize reservations were necessary in such a small town. The waiter made up for it though. I was disappointed that we couldn't order a large pizza for the table, but I was pleasantly surprised by how large the personal pizzas were. Overall, the service was great after the initial greeting. The host seemed annoyed when we didn't have a reservation, but the rest of the experience made up for it. I would recommend having a friendlier host. I'm glad this didn't set the tone for the rest of the experience. The crust of the bread was tough to chew, but I would still come back to this restaurant.

This is her buffalo chicken pizza and four seasons pizza. There was no buffalo sauce and there were about 2 in the crust. This is literally a Star Pizza.
