Meleket Ethiopian - Silver Spring

I went to celebrate a birthday yesterday and had a fantastic experience! We ordered veggie and chicken sambusas, a veggie platter, and some chicken dishes for others at the table. Everything was delicious! The staff were incredibly friendly and kind, going above and beyond by bringing out a happy birthday sign, flowers, and even playing the "Happy Birthday" song over the speakers. The food was exceptional. For those with dietary restrictions, they offered gluten-free and vegetarian options. Plus, they had a variety of kid-friendly items on the menu! Overall, it was a wonderful celebration.

The entirely cacophonous “live music” is atrociously loud; my daughter and I had to leave with horrible headaches. Their service is ridiculously slow.

One of my favorite places to have Ethiopian food! Love the jazz nights on Fridays, open your ears to something new!

My sister and I had a fantastic experience at Melekete Restaurant. The waitresses were incredibly friendly, greeting us with warm smiles and assisting us with the pronunciation of the dish names. The atmosphere was cozy, and the soft jazz music perfectly complemented the setting. At the end of our meal, we were pleasantly surprised when the waitress brought out a complimentary slice of strawberry shortcake for my sister, and then the entire restaurant joined in singing "Happy Birthday to Ya" by Stevie Wonder. It was truly an unforgettable evening. Thank you for your excellent service, Melekete Restaurant! We can't wait to visit again soon!

Absolutely delicious food, good environment, excellent service. 100% recommend and will be back again.
