The prices are a little high for the experience, but we'd return because we know we're paying for the geographical convenience. There were some technical difficulties with the food preparation, but the flavors were all so vibrant that they overpowered a poorly sliced tomato with bits of stem left in that I had to finish cutting at the table. My husband's steak was overcooked and a touch dry, but we were in a slight hurry, so we didn't take the time to have one refired. Our server was attentive and friendly. She is the reason for a 4 star rating instead of a 3 for average, and had our food been on point, there'd have been 5 stars.
My steak was med rare as ordered tender and delicious my husband ordered some kind of pork kabobs and he was amazed at the wonderful flavor of the meat and spices 14 in our party and a wide variety of thee Menu was ordered. We all left full and had a pleasant experience wish there was one of these in gaylesville al
Seven family members recently went to Yanni's to eat. One member is disabled and has a service dog which is small and was carried. As soon as we entered the server went to the kitchen window and spoke with a man. She then started to seat us when the man from the kitchen came out and said the service dog was not allowed. He said aeevice dogs are only for blind people and none of us looked blind. When the disabled person tried explaining that the disability laws allow her to habe her service animal with her, he said no, only for the blind. The majority of our party had left to go elsewhere when a young man came out and said we could stay...which was useless at that point since some had already headed to another restaurant. This was a violation of the disabled person's civil rights. It's really a shame, we all just wanted to be treated equally and have something to eat.
Placed a to go order, which I could not place by phone since they take the phone off the hook when they’re busy. Placed the order in person at 6pm, there was a patron sitting awaiting to be seated. I was told 20-25 minutes, I came back in 30 minutes and the order was not ready. Two other to go orders were placed while I was waiting for mine, at 6:53 when the other two to go orders had been given theirs, mind you I asked several times for my order to be checked on, I asked for a refund! The hostess went back to let them know, at which point she came back and said it’s ready now, I could have a refund or my order. I asked for my order, while they were putting it together, cause it wasn’t “ready”, the original customer who was awaiting to be seated, was now exiting after finishing his meal! I was asked if I wanted drinks, I declined, just wanted my order. We were going to order a pizza at the same time to have for the next day, but they weren’t making pizza since they were busy??? I won’t be returning tomorrow for the pizza.
We were in the area and were looking for lunch. We took a chance with this place and I am glad we did. We had lasagna and it was one of the best ever. It had lots of mozzarella cheese. We were disappointed that it didn’t have any meat sauce on top, so waitress brought us a small side of meat sauce, which made a big difference. Then we had strawberry cheesecake for dessert and it was really good. Service was prompt, efficient and all the staff were courteous and professional at the same time. We would definitely return when in the area.
