I had the Bratwurst Plate, while my wife enjoyed the Reuben along with some tasty potato salad, and we shared both dishes. Everything was delightful, particularly the homemade sauerkraut and the gravy. As we were about to order desserts, I couldn't resist trying the Kraut Burger. Wow! It did not disappoint—perfectly juicy! We will definitely make the drive to Das Café again and again.
This restaurant offers the most authentic German cuisine in Utah. You simply must try the dinner special featuring the bratwurst, along with the delicious dill gravy on the potatoes and the incredible dill potato salad. I am a big fan of the new vegetable omelette and the Mormon mocha as well. However, their most famous dish has to be the carrot cake; people travel from near and far just to enjoy it.
It was smaller than I anticipated based on the newspaper reviews, but it definitely met my expectations! The sauerkraut was fresh and full of flavor, and the mustard-dill gravy on the potatoes was both unique and delicious. It was absolutely worth the visit!
I love the food. Wife had the waffle with fruit. It was great. I had the German breakfast Sausage, but they have not been able to get the German Breakfast Sausage for a couple of weeks. I substituted a Braut. It was a really good Braut, but not designed to have with eggs and German potatoes. It?s not their fault, there are no German breakfast sausages available from their supplier.
I'm not into spices, so I ordered the Belgian waffles with berries and my husband ordered the bratwurst dinner. We also got a side of potato salad because of the reviews. The mashed potatoes with tricky gravy was interesting because it was slightly sweet. The sauerkraut wasn't very tart. The potato salad was made with dill, which I've never had. The bratwurst was scrumptious, and I was sad I only got a little bite. The Belgian waffle was to die for. I'm glad I got wafflesinstead of the dinner. Next time I'm ordering the waffle with a side of bratwurst. Because we're going back!
