Salem's Fresh Eats - St. Petersburg

First time at Salems. Came in at around 1am to dine in. Served up some great gyros and fried gizzards. All at a great price too. Staff was friendly. Order was up quickly.

Awesome food. Take out Shrimp Combo and 2 Gyros also onion rings and fried mushrooms. Service was awesome very nice place. Clean and not too crowded.

I wish I would have taken a picture of this before I threw it away. I ordered the gizzards and fries combo through the drive-thru. I could tell this food was refried or dipped back into the grease and served. The gizzards are dark brown and overcooked the fries were Brown. And I could taste the grease! It is storming and raining really hard no one else was in line except for me. It is so obvious that this food was sitting. If this is how they do business I will not be back. They charge a dollar for extra sauce, when I think I could have gotten at least one for free with my order. They did give me two free ketchups.

The freshest fast food in town, always clean always, been amazing. This chain of stores has been growing for years. They have brought this place up from very humble beginnings I will always eat here.

This place is fantastic! The fried chicken gizzards are incredibly tasty, featuring the ideal texture and consistency. The hot sauce at Salems is outstanding, made with a cayenne pepper base. The portions for the bowls are generous; my husband and I shared the gyro bowl, which was quite good, but it had some really spicy peppers—definitely ask for them on the side if you aren't a fan of heat. The food and service are excellent, especially for what you might think of as fast food; it's actually restaurant-quality and made fresh to order, so no heat lamps or stale fries here. The only drawback is the somewhat confusing drive-thru setup, as some customers end up joining the line before ordering or miss it entirely and have to make a U-turn. Overall, it’s a great spot with a diverse menu and reasonable prices.
