The meals range from as low as $4.50 (or three for $12) to about $12. There is something for everyone here, but it is important to note that it is very popular so we recommend arriving before noon. Our favorites are the cheap Vietnamese stall and banh mi sushi at 2 for $10, as well as the Malaysian tali tablet dish.
I recently visited this Thai restaurant and noticed that the owner was not wearing a mask and there was no social distancing in place. When I asked about this, I was verbally abused and told to go back to Chinatown. It is important for restaurant owners to care about the health and well-being of their customers and their business. I recommend going to Shop 4 Siam Noodly nearby instead, where you can enjoy good Thai cuisine with polite staff and without the risk of being insulted or subjected to racist abuse.
One might easily overlook the entrance signs, but the variety of small food stalls at the Hunter Connection is worth discovering. I frequent this food court for lunch several times a week and enjoy the diverse selection of Asian cuisine available, both freshly made and prepacked. Some of my favorites include the Vietnamese banh mi stand, the Japanese ramen place, the juice/smoothie bar, and the Chinese stalls. It's worth taking the time to explore and discover which stalls you like best. The prices are affordable and the quality is great, although it's not a luxurious setting and there is no wifi. It's a place to eat and leave rather than linger. The food court is always busy, so be prepared to wait for a seat. Visiting after 2pm or closer to 3pm may yield better deals, as stalls often sell remaining food at a discount after the lunch rush.
If they are touristy, the Asian cuisine and love on a tight budget, the hunter connection is their ultimate essential destination. the prices of food are a third cheaper that all other food dishes in the city. and they can get most Asian cuisine they can...imagine (korea, japanese, malaysian, Chinese taiwanese, Chinese beijing, etc) as well as their subway, and fish and chips. and the bonus is when they came to 2pm when they get a pair of rats for most of them. What else do you need?
This is a place for reasonably priced food, but is hurting as a result of all the roadworks in George Street. For best prices, get your take away meal at the end of the day when pre-selected boxes are available.
