The Crown - Tendring

Before attending a funeral, we stopped by this restaurant with limited time after a disappointing experience at the Rose Crown. The bartender was incredibly helpful, promptly preparing some sandwiches for us with a friendly demeanor. The restaurant also had ample parking and a cheerful atmosphere.

We stopped for lunch on a day out and found this pub to be a pleasant venue which is dog friendly. It has good outside seating but we could have eaten inside if we had preferred. The menu is quite short but we were delighted with the quality of the meals. The fish and chips portions were generous and the tuna Niçoise salads were perfect. We finished with the crème brûlée which was delicious. Service was excellent.

Wow, what a great night we have just had at The Crown . I couldn’t fault the service , jazz and the owner Lou was so so welcoming I felt I had known her for years ! We were able to take our dog into the pub they love dogs!!! which is great when you are on holiday and can’t leave them in a caravan. It is a relatively new adventure for Lou and Mick but they deserve to make a success as they are born to work in the pub trade ! Loved meeting Lou daughter ,a real family business which should be supported. Definitely 100% recommend xx We will be back xx Anne Ian and Molly

Came for a evening meal with my husband and his family. While staying at the campsite in the village, very nice food and service, covid safety wasn't really met. The younger staff had no masked on. 3 of us had the hunters chicken and maybe could of had some more sauce. But was very nice. Would definitely come back if we were in the area again.
