Contribuer aux commentairesI had read some negative reviews about this place. I'm not sure why. The sisters were unbelievably friendly. Showed us around, talked about the food. And it was truly a new experience of pre-Columbian food. Not to be missed. Follow my instagram at @dean.hammer
So disappointed! The moles are good but in relation with the price.... honestly not worth the expense. In fact they serve you the piece of poultry they want... since you are not even allow to choose between breast or leg I decided to order just my mole with rice... surprise!!! The price was the same as if I had it with chicken!!! This in México is unadmisable. Not coming back ever, nor recomended at all. Don't waste your time and money. Un abuso total!!
Heard a lot about it and decided to try if we could go there. It took us 40' from Oaxaca downtown to reach the place with a taxi. 300 M$. They actually open the place for us after mourning their mother during 2 months. 4 dusters were there including Abigail which lead the kitchen. It was amazing to witness them preparing our meal and exchanging with them in their kitchen. It was a great experience. I'm not a huge fan of mole and did not make much the difference between one or the others. If your aim is to go for a great, sophisticate meal this is not the place. If you go there to have a different experience and try something local it is the place. Considering the location it is more on tourist price than anything else. Going back to town cost is 200M$
Osxaca has some great food, some of the best of Mexico, and we had heard very good things about this place specifically. The first problem is that it is seriously overpriced, but evern worse, the food is not good at all. Our chicken in mole was undercooked and when we pointed this out we where told by the ladies that it was actually well cooked but it was a bit tougher because it was organic chicken (it was definitely undercooked). The table beside ours had a similar problem and sent theirs back. The beans where also undercooked and both soups of the day where simply insipid. It tries to appear as something very authentic but lack of authenticity is clear if you notice that the crafts they have the most for sale (see picture) are not from this town which is famous for its textiles, and not even from wonderful Oaxaca state, but actually from a town in Guerrero (Olinala) that is about eight hours away.We were all very disappointed and will definitely not go back.
We've eaten here twice in our travels. One of the most delicious and compelling eating adventures we've ever had.
