East Star Chinese Buffet - Terre Haute

3 times here. the first time wasn't as great as we came just before the conclusion, so it wasn't so great to eat. the next two times we came to dinner so that eating was fantastic and my mother loves this place because it is the only Chinese buffet that we found that still has crab legs. we are coming back to the final.

Super great restaurant! Loved all the food. The staff was very friendly and they had a lot of variety. All the food tasted fresh, even at 3:30 in the afternoon! We got lots of sushi, broccoli beef and rice, sweet and sour chicken, egg drop soup, MORE sushi and deserts! We will definitely be coming here again on visits. Only disappointments were the bathroom and the chairs were uncomfortable. I would sit in a booth if you can.

It is actually hit or miss.. this last time I went they didn't have as much verity as they usually have.. Typically the first buffet cart is mostly more homestyle American type food.. with a couple oriental dishes.. then a buffet cart of oriental dishes, another one with soups and fried items.. a large sushi area.. and a large salad bar plus desserts.. If you have a family with one who doesn't like Chinese this works perfectly because there is enough for that person too..

I gave this restaurant a one star because I couldn 't put this review if I didn 't. This place is horrible. My family ate over there a couple times but we will never go there again. The waitress we had hoovered over our table. We couldn 't even have a conversation that the waitress would not interrupt us. When we paid, she claimed she gave us a $4.00 discount. When I paid and tipped her she got extremely upset as if it was not good enough for her. We tried to speak with the manager but he didn 't care. We told him we wouldn 't return and he replied Good! I then watched as the staff climbed in the trash with aprons on stomping around. Then I saw them use their hands to scrape out a 5 gallon bucket. You do not want to eat here. I got extremely sick after the eating here.

I wish i could post a negative star on this place. The cost is reasonable. But the quality of food isn't. Absolutely horrible! They don't label anything so you'll know what you are eating. Their Crab Rangoon is brown on inside of it. The iced tea was the only good thing there! I don't know how they stay in business.
