The service was excellent the first time, but unfortunately it was not as good the second time. However, the food is fantastic. The Calzone is delicious and definitely different from your average pizza calzone. The Eggplant Parmesan is the best I've ever had. Make sure to save room for gelato after dinner.
Pizza is my favorite food and this is the best pizza I've ever had. They import three things from Italy: the tomatoes, pizza flour, and employees. The tomatoes are much better than the flavorless ones we usually get. The flour is said to make the pizza exceptional. The staff was friendly and attentive. The only downside was the atmosphere, which felt more like a cafeteria than a cozy restaurant.
Via Mercanti is a fantastic addition to the east end of Toronto, with two other locations in the city that are equally wonderful. This restaurant offers a well-rounded Italian dining experience with a wide selection of appetizers, pastas, and pizzas, as well as a great wine list and excellent service. The authentic Italian cuisine and ice cold Limoncello at the end of the meal made for a memorable dining experience. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Eating was very good, but the lack of service, bad ambiente and poor level took away the pleasure of the food completely.
I didn't live on the hypoe. an ill-decorated room with a very high noise level. polpette was good as caprese salat and lasagne, but a Rigatoni court and a pizza were simply ok. instead of expensive for what was offered.
