I have been living in Germany for 9 years and have never experienced so clumsy people working in a bakery. the food was not so fresh.
It was late in the day on a quiet day in late November so we expected the cafe to be quiet when we entered, we should have walked immediately. On old lady owner server took my wife's order for four cups of coffee and...a pastry snack. My wife is a well bred Canadian who is exceptionally polite and requested our coffee and snack in rough but understandable German. The old woman accepted payment for the order and then became very rude. The old women told my wife to F OFF in German and told her that she had no time for English speaking tourists. We were all stunned. We took our order not knowing what else to do. The coffee was old and sour and the pastries were stale. We decided to leave our coffee and pastry untouched at our table and leave and the old woman became enraged at us for not cleaning the table for her. Never have we been treated so poorly.
While out shopping, we were feeling a bit peckish, and really enjoy the tradition of afternoon coffee and cake, so we stopped in. It 's a bit of an older cafe, however that gave it an elegant, 'old time ' feel that we really enjoyed. The cakes...and coffee were delicious and it was a wonderful place to warm up before resuming our clock shopping. We will definitely be having cake and coffee here again when we return next month.
The place is ok and has several options for breakfast. Somehow I feel they cheaper on the Marmelade, but anyways. The place is good and the taste of the food is good too, would come back.
